State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Thursday reported a 3.9 percent rise in its net profit to Rs 80.82 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2017, as compared to Rs 77.77 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 3,461 crore in the fiscal 2013-14, BHEL said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange.
Shares of power equipment maker BHEL Friday fell by over 3 percent after the company reported 69 percent fall in net profit for the third quarter of 2014-15.
Faced with reduced order book and stiff competition, power equipment maker BHEL is exploring new business models apart from scouting for overseas opportunities in Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries.
The stock was the worst performer among the blue-chips on both Sensex and Nifty during the early trade.
