Defence counsels Rajat Bhardwaj and Karan Sharma opposed the judicial custody plea. They submitted that the accused is in no position to interfere with an investigation or tampering with the evidence.

Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar, who has been accused of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal has been sent to police custody till May 31.
During the proceedings, Rajya Sabha MP Maliwal informed the court that Kumar's release would endanger her life and her family. She said that a "one-sided video" about the incident "was made by a YouTuber" after which she began receiving threats.
Maliwal asserted that she is not aware whether she was beaten on the instructions of anyone or by himself or of his own accord and that this is all a matter of investigation.
In her complaint, Maliwal alleged that on May 13, during her visit to the Chief Minister's residence, Kejriwal's Personal Secretary, Bibhav Kumar assaulted her.
