Bihar Assembly elections 2025 News
Rashtraiya Janata Dal Supremo Lalu Yadav's estranged son, Tej Pratap Yadav, on Saturday said that he will contest in the upcoming Bihar elections from Mahua. This follows his expulsion from the RJD after he made public his 12-year-long relationship.
The ECI said on Friday that 94.68 percent of voters in Bihar have been successfully covered in the ongoing SIR of the electoral rolls. Meanwhile, over 11,000 voters listed in the current electoral roll have been found untraceable.
In order to get their names included in the draft electoral rolls to be published on August 1, electors have to submit their EFs, preferably, along with eligibility documents.
Bihar Elections 2025: The Supreme Court on July 10 urged the Election Commission of India to consider accepting Aadhaar, ration card, and EPIC as valid identity proofs for voters during the special electoral roll revision in Bihar ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. The Court sought ECI’s response but did not halt the revision process.
