The number of people who died due to fake liquor in Bihar's Saran has increased to 57. Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha raised the issue of deaths due to fake liquor. However, in the meantime, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his temper in the House.

Deaths due to spurious liquor is common in dry state Bihar. In a recent case, as many as 39 people died in after drinking spurious liquor two villages of Saran district.

While speaking in the Bihar Assembly, JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar slammed BJP leaders protesting the nine deaths in the hooch tragedy in the Saran district.

Nitish Kumar also rejected the BJP's charge that his latest volte-face was aimed at becoming the prime ministerial candidate of the opposition camp and asserted that he had "no personal ambitions".

During the floor test of Nitish government in Bihar assembly, BJP leader Tarkishore Prasad has attacked fiercely. During his speech, he said that it has not even been 15 days since the government of the Mahagathbandhan was formed, and the crime rate in the state has increased.

Rabri Devi lashed out at the BJP over the CBI raid at the residences of RJD leaders The CBI raids are being conducted in connection with the "land for jobs" scam "They (BJP) are scared as a new government has been formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar," she added

A special session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly will be called on August 24 and 25. A floor test will be held on 24th August and Legislative Council proceedings will be held on 25th August. A new speaker will also be elected in this session.
