Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday assured of action against officials and school teachers after completion of the probe in the Class 12 topper scam. He said teachers of those schools where no student passed the exam would be dismissed.

Along with the chief minister, the state Education Minister Ashok Choudhary should also resign, state BJP chief Nityanand Rai told reporters here.

Branding the Bihar topper scam news as utter rubbish, the Janata Dal (United) on Friday said the news is being used by certain outlets in the media for the sheer purpose of sensationalism.

After Bihar Arts topper Ganesh Kumar came under scanner as he allegedly failed to show his academic credentials as per his scores giving rise to speculations of another topper scam in the state, the Bihar School Exam Board chairman Anand Kishore on Thursday gave a clean chit to the former saying no one can raise question on his merit.

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police may confiscate the assets of Amit Kumar alias Bachcha Rai, the alleged kingpin of the Bihar topper scam, the state police said on Monday.

The special investigation team probing the intermediate toppers scam in Bihar on Wednesday arrested district unit president of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM)-Secular Ajay Kumar Singh along with 19 blank answer sheets.

Former Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, his wife Usha Sinha and five others were on Wednesday remanded in 14 days judicial custody in connection with the intermediate toppers scam.

The top scorers in the Bihar state board intermediate exams were exposed in media interviews soon after their Class 12 results were announced last month.
