 Baccha Rai is the alleged mastermind of the Bihar toppers scam that rocked the state in 2016.

In a significant development, Bihar Board Class 12 (Arts) topper Ganesh Kumar was on Friday arrested by the police whereas his result was cancelled by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) with immediate effect, the Bihar School Examination Board's Anand Kishore announced. 

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case to probe alleged irregularities in the 2016 Bihar toppers scam case related to the state school examination board.

A total of 204 examinees were expelled across the state for using unfair means in the intermediate examination on the second day on Wednesday.

Ruby Rai, an accused in the Bihar toppers scam, did not write her examination copy herself but it was written by someone else, police had said.

The controversial third rank holder in science stream of the Intermediate Examination from Bishun Rai College in Bihar, has been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Patna police, which is probing the toppers scam in the state.
