Expressing concern over "jobless" growth in India and too many "stifling" regulations, biotechnology entrepreneur Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has called for formulation of pragmatic and visionary polices to create new employment opportunities.

NeoBiocon, a collaboration between Biocon Ltd and BR Shetty led UAE-based Neopharma, has partnered with Novartis Middle East FZE to market diabetes drugs Jalra and Jalra-M in the UAE.

Biotechnology firm Biocon Ltd could file a prospectus for a share listing for its research services business arm Syngene International within the next two months, two sources directly involved in the process said.

Biocon Ltd will list its research services business arm Syngene by selling up to 15 percent stake in a public offer, the company said, after reporting third-quarter earnings.

Biocon said it would buy the stake in unit Syngene, which is involved in pharmaceutical contract research and manufacturing, from GE Equity International Mauritius.

Biotechnology major Biocon has reported nine percent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 103 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
