Govt clears Corbevax as Covid-19 booster dose for adults vaccinated with Covaxin, Covishield Health Ministry's approval is based on the recommendations made by the NTG Corbevax is currently being used to inoculate children in the age group of 12 to 14 years under the COVID-19 immunisation programme.

Precaution dose for all aged 60 and above will begin on March 16. Beneficiaries born in 2010 or before can register for the 12-14 age group category. There are 4.7 crore children in this age group eligible for vaccination.

The Corbevax vaccine is administered through an intramuscular route with two doses scheduled 28 days apart and is stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius temperature.

India will have a capacity of more than 30 crores by next year per month. 60 lakh doses of Zydus Cadila`s ZyCoV-D is already ready with the company. Biological E will be providing 30 crore doses.

The Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) on Wednesday authorized Hyderabad-based Biological E. Ltd to conduct Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials for its anti-COVID vaccine named Corbevax on children aged 5 to 18 years with certain conditions.

Diplomats and Ambassador of around 60 countries have landed in India, Hyderabad, to visit Bharat Biotech headquarter and Biological E limited which are working on the COVID-19 vaccine.
