Shaktiman - the Uttarakhand Police horse - who succumbed to its injuries yesterday had not given up even after its hind leg was amputated and struggled till the end to survive, according to the grieving caretaker.
BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi, who is accused of attacking police horse 'Shaktiman', was on Tuesday granted bail by a local here.
Joshi is currently lodged at Shuddhowala jail in Dehradun.
As Shaktiman weighs 400 kgs it is not clear for how long he can stand and move with an artificial leg.

A BJP MLA in Uttarakhand accused of mercilessly beating a horse may face disciplinary action with the party saying such cruelty was "unacceptable" and it has taken serious note of the incident.
According to media reports, the rally suddenly turned violent and in the commotion the MLA targeted the horse as others also joined in.
