Two suicide car bombers blew themselves up at checkpoints on a highway near oilfields in the southern Iraqi province of Basra on Friday, killing several people.

Belgian authorities urged the media to refrain from reporting on the probe into triple bomb attacks in Brussels Tuesday that killed at least 26 after some said raids were under way in the city.

At least 54 people were killed and 90 wounded in multiple bomb attacks in the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri on Sunday evening, a police spokesman said on Monday.
