The govt will provide subsidy for two years in respect of new employees engaged on or after 1st Oct 2020 and up to 30th June 2021 It will pay both 12% employees' contribution and 12% employers' contribution i.e. 24% of wages towards EPF It will pay only employees' share of EPF contribution i.e. 12% of wages in respect of new employees in establishments employing over 1000 employees for two years

The Cabinet approved laying of an undersea optical fibre cable to 11 Lakshadweep Islands to provide high-speed broadband internet connectivity It would be on the lines of the one recently laid to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an extension of the time limit for availing the benefits of "Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana" for beneficiaries by three months, said Union Minister Prakash Javadekar. 

Javdekar said the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved a scheme for interest subvention of 2% to SHISHU loan category borrowers under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY). 

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar termed the decisions as a landmark to benefit farmers and transform the agriculture sector.
