Calcium intake News
It has been found that individuals with lower levels of calcium in the blood, are more likely to experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) than those with higher calcium levels.
The researchers found that among participants with highest dietary intake of calcium there was no increase in relative risk of developing heart disease over the 10-year study period.
Lead author Sung Hye Kong from Seoul National University Hospital in Seoul, South Korea said that the role of dietary calcium intake in cardiovascular disease, stroke and fracture is controversial.
As per a recent study, increasing calcium intake through dietary sources or supplements is unlikely to improve bone health or prevent fractures in older people.
