Samsung has been dethroned as the nation's largest smartphone vendor by homegrown handset maker Micromax, research firm Canalys said, but the Korean giant disputed this saying it still remains at the top.
Apple Inc has shipped the most number of smartphones in China in the fourth quarter, overtaking Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and homegrown companies such as Xiaomi for the first time, according to data firm Canalys.
Homegrown firms in the world's largest mobile phone markets- India and China- have piped Korean electronic giant Samsung to capture the handset market, a clear indication that these companies are upping their ante by delivering compelling products at aggressive price points.
