The trial in a coal scam case in which charges were framed against Delhi-based Rathi Steel and Power Limited (RSPL) and its three officials Friday commenced before a special court, which recorded the statements of two CBI witnesses.

The special court, constituted by the Supreme Court to exclusively hold trial in cases of coal blocks allocation scam, Tuesday commenced proceedings with the CBI informing it that probe in the case, involving Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Darda and others, was "almost complete".
