Two horrific car bombings have been reported in Mogadishu. More than 100 people have been reported dead in this car blast.

Gurtej Singh Randhawa, 19, of Tettenhall in England, was arrested in May after undercover officers from the UK's NCA replaced a car bomb ordered online with a harmless dummy device before it was delivered.

A car bomb in the same area targeted a security checkpoint shortly afterward, according to interior ministry spokesman Saad Maan. 

Seven civilians, including two young children, were killed by a car bomb that exploded at a security checkpoint in the Sinai Peninsula on Monday, Egypt`s army spokesman said.

The two cars exploded on a road outside the border city of Rafah. 

The attack occurred in a market in the town of al-Dana, located in the north of the province near the border with Turkey, according to the Observatory.

No group has claimed responsibility for the brazen attack, but it comes as the Taliban ramp up their nationwide spring offensive despite government calls for a ceasefire during Ramadan.

More than 10 persons died, 20 others were wounded. The explosion destroyed the building of Wadajir District headquarters.

Public Prosecutor Hisham Barakat was killed in a car bomb attack on his convoy in Cairo, an operation for which Egypt blamed the Muslim Brotherhood and Gaza-based Hamas militants.

The assault near the town of Baddah in oil-producing Hadramout province came after a lull in attacks by the Islamist militant group.  

A teacher in a separate vehicle was killed in the gunfire and a bystander was wounded, it said, adding the gunmen escaped with the stolen car.  

The bombing targeted the Karrada district, which was hit by a massive truck bomb in July 2016 that killed at least 324 people, the deadliest attack in Iraq.

Two suicide car bombers blew themselves up at checkpoints on a highway near oilfields in the southern Iraqi province of Basra on Friday, killing several people.
