Ousted Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn was in his childhood home of Lebanon on Tuesday after fleeing what he said was a "rigged" justice system in Japan, raising questions about how one of the world`s most-recognised executives slipped away while on bail.
Japanese prosecutors arrested ousted Nissan Motor Co boss Carlos Ghosn for a fourth time on Thursday, broadcaster NHK said, after reports authorities were building a new case against him over payments made to a dealer in Oman.
Ghosn was arrested in Japan for alleged financial misconduct.
This is the second time that the judge has rejected Ghosn`s bail plea, reports Efe news.
Ghosn`s alleged co-conspirators, Nissan Director Greg Kelly and Nissan Motor, were also indicted for the alleged misreporting.
On December 31, the Tokyo District Court granted prosecutors` request to extend Ghosn`s detention by 10 days until January 11.
Ghosn, accused of aggravated breach of trust, is facing allegations of making the car maker shoulder 1.85 billion yen ($16.8 million) in personal investment losses.
