SC adjourned the hearing of the plea challenging the decision of the CBSE and CICSE to cancel the physical exams for Class 12 students till tomorrow.
A vacation bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari heard the matter today.
CBSE had submitted the much-sought Class 12 evaluation criteria to the apex court on June 17, 2021.
Supreme Court had asked the board to form a committee for dispute resolution.
The apex court had also ordered CBSE to announce a firm timeline for the announcement of the Class 12 results.
As many as 1152 students moved Supreme Court for the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 compartment exam.
The petition filed through Advocate Manu Jaitley seeks a direction to CBSE board to arrive at a formula for performance evaluation of Class 10, 12 private/compartment/repeaters students in an expedited manner.
CBSE announced that an IT system is being developed by the board to assist schools in the preparation of Class 12 results.
"This system will also pre-populate marks of Class X of the students passed from CBSE. Efforts will also be made to take other Boards` class X results data," an official statement said.
The apex court will hear petitions related to CBSE, ICSE and state board examinations for Class 12.
The 12-member committee of experts has prepared the formula for giving results and marks for the students.
The SC said that it will go through the objective parameters for assessment of marks.
The Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) 13-member expert panel is likely to submit CBSE Class 12 evaluation criteria today.

Soon after cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (June 1), many state boards cancelled their respective Class 12 examinations amid the COVID-19 situation in India.
