Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday cautioned against relying on imported niche technologies for critical offensive and defensive missions and emphasised the need for self-reliance in safeguarding national security.
CDS Gen Anil Chuahan stated that Operation Sindoor is not over yet; there is a cessation of hostilities temporarily.
This is the first time India’s top defence official has openly acknowledged any kind of tactical flaw in the mission.
It was a strategic decision, not a compromise, said Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan.
CDS General Anil Chauhan visited the Indian Army's Northern and Western Commands to assess Operation Sindoor’s outcomes. He praised efforts against terror networks, civilian rehabilitation, and defense preparedness along the borders.
The Home Ministry has increased the security of CDS General Anil Chauhan. The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give Z security to the CDS. After the IB report, the MHA has increased this security.
Bipin Rawat was making a controlled effort to reorganize the Armed Forces and bring them into Integrated Theater Commands so that the forces work more efficiently. But now as the Chief of Defense Staff, Lt Gen (R.) Anil Chauhan will have many responsibilities along with it. He will be the military advisor to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the Tri-Services Nuclear Command Authority or Nuclear Command Authority
Lt Gen (retd) took charge as the second CDS and received the Guard of Honour at south block, Delhi
CDS Anil Chauhan will also be functioning as Secretary in the Department of Military Affairs
CDS Lt Gen Chauhan (retd) is from the 11 Gorkha Rifles, the same regiment as Gen Rawat
