Nearly 1103 candidates have cleared the written exam. The recruitment drive will fill 159 vacancies of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the CAPF. Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo physical standards test.

Through the recruitment process, a total of 533 vacancies will be recruited. Based on the interview, the candidates will be selected.

Union Home Minister also said that we should harness natural resources and not exploit them. 

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday decided to withdraw 72 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) from the newly formed union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. The CAPFs include 24 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and 12 companies each of the Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

According to an order by the MHA, the retirement age will be applicable to personnel of Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and regular cadre of the Paramilitary component of the Assam Rifles (AR).

Speaking at a function in Srinagar, Sahai said that induction and de-induction is a continues process and is done when the need is felt to strengthen the law and order against terrorism.

The Central Armed Police Forces have decided not to celebrate Holi this year.

The top court's order will benefit thousands of Group A officers of central paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB and CISF.  

The 'Bharat ke Veer' initiative was launched in April 2017.

After declaring reservation for women in constabulary in paramilitary forces, they can now also be inducted as officers in combat roles in all five Central Armed Police Forces.

The CAG has found that the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like CRPF and BSF have provided very limited number of residential quarters leading to low satisfaction level among them.

In order to better equip police and paramilitary forces in the country, the Union Home Ministry has decided to seek doubling of the budgetary allocation for their modernisation.
