CPCB to ban water purifiers where the level of total dissolved solids (TDS) in water is below 500 milligrams per litre. The green panel had earlier said that huge wastage of water in the use of RO purifiers. The NGT clarified that the CPCB order will be independent and uninfluenced.

The green panel observed that the statutory regulators were not taking coercive measures, including invoking of "polluter pays" principle for enforcing the statutory norms against the e-commerce firms. The CPCB has earlier told the NGT that e-commerce giants need to fulfil their extended producer responsibility under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, and need to establish a system for collecting back the plastic waste generated due to the packaging of their products, the CPCB had earlier told the NGT.

Environment Secretary C.K. Mishra said that the previous instructions of the Ministry and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have been reviewed and the instructions in the recent Supreme Court order have been collated into a roadmap and these will be implemented for the next 15 days.
