Chandrayaan-3 started on its journey. With the launch, the third Moon mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) began. After the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that Chandrayaan has been accurately placed around the Earth. We wish the best for Chandrayaan-3.
The Indian Space Research Organisation launched its third lunar mission - Chandrayaan 3 on-board the heavylift LVM3-M4 rocket in Sriharikota on July 14. The Vikram lander of the mission is expected to soft land on the surface of the South Pole region of the Moon on around August 23 or August 24.
India has achieved success in its most important campaign. ISRO has created history with the launch of Chandrayaan-3. PM Modi congratulated ISRO on this success by tweeting. In this tweet, PM Modi described it as the flight of dreams of Indians.

The Chandrayaan-2 Lunar Orbiter recently performed a Collision avoidance manoeuvre
The exercise was to mitigate the risk of passing very close to NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter
ISRO Chairman, K Sivan said the eight payloads on board the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft are conducting remote sensing and in-situ observations of the Moon at around 100 km altitude from the lunar surface.
The science data are being made available for analysis by academia and institutes, for a greater participation to bring out more science from Chandrayaan-2 mission.
The ISRO has said it has released the first set of data from the Chandrayaan-2.
Chandrayaan-2 was launched on July 22, 2019, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
Marking a year of the Chandrayaan-2 integrated module having been inserted into lunar orbit, the ISRO has released its initial set of technical and mission data.
It goes on to state that, though the soft-landing was unsuccessful, the orbiter had completed 4400 orbits around the moon.
While the orbiter was meant to stay operational for one year, ISRO says that it has enough fuel for remaining in orbit for seven years.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday said that the Chandrayaan-2 completed one year on the Moon orbit.
Chandrayaan-2 was successfully inserted into the lunar orbit on August 20, 2019.
It was on July 22, 2019, the GSLV rocket, nicknamed `Bahubali`, blasted off from the second launch pad at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
The Sarabhai Crater is around 250 to 300 kilometres east of the crater where the Apollo 17 and Luna 21 Missions had landed.
Shanmuga also stated that it has rolled out a few metres from the skeleton of Vikram lander, whose payloads got disintegrated due to rough landing.
He claimed that the debris he found was of Langmuir probe from the Vikram lander.
While orbiting the moon in 100 km lunar polar orbit, Vikram Lander was separated from Orbiter on September 02, 2019, in preparation for landing and was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km before communication from the lander to ground stations was lost.
On this day in 2019, the GSLV rocket, nicknamed `Bahubali`, blasted off from the second launch pad at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
The aim of the mission was to studying all the areas combining the exosphere, the surface as well as the sub-surface of the moon in a single mission.
The ISRO on Tuesday asserted that the public release of science data from Chandrayaan-2 for global use will begin in October 2020.
It added that all the eight payloads on Chandrayaan-2 are performing well.
The Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was inserted into the lunar orbit on August 20, 2019.
