Char Dham yatra began with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri portals for devotees on May 3.
This time a record number of devotees are reaching the Char Dham Yatra. Devotees faith has not deterred despite the bad weather in Gangotri, Yamunotri Dham and Kedarnath. The Yatra which resumed started after Corona, has broken all the previous records.
Due to heavy rain and dense fog in Kedarnath, the administration has stopped the yatra with immediate effect. During this, five thousand passengers were stopped from place to place from Rudraprayag to Guptkashi.
57 people have died so far since Char Dham Yatra began.
Registration is compulsory for Char Dham Yatra.
Around 8 lakh people have undertaken the yatra so far.
Char Dham Yatra 2022: The health official informed that the health check-up of the pilgrims is being done at various places on the travel routes besides Rishikesh."Pilgrims who are not medically fit are being advised not to travel," Uttarakhand Director-General Health Dr Shailja Bhatt told ANI.
Pilgrims will have to produce registration and a trip card mentioning the date and time of their visit to the temples.
So far, 2,84,060 pilgrims have visited Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Uttarakhand CM Dhami on Monday flagged off free health services provided by a private health organization for devotees.
15,000 pilgrims will be allowed daily at Badrinath, 12,000 at Kedarnath, 7,000 at Gangotri and 4,000 at Yamunotri.
It is not mandatory for the pilgrims to carry a negative test report or COVID-19 vaccination certificate this year.
The inauguration of the Surkanda Devi ropeway will be a relief to the devotees as they had to walk on foot for around 2 hours to reach the temple.
