At last five people have died due to rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu and over 260 huts and over 70 houses have been damaged. Surplus rainwater gushed out of reservoirs while several roads here resembled swollen rivers and four persons were killed in rain-related incidents across Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rain continues in many areas of Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu. Due to incessant rains, many parts of the city have been flooded and due to this traffic is also affected.

Several pictures and videos showed cars submerged under water, uprooted trees and people being rescued on rubber boats in various parts of the city.
