Two-time ISL champions Chennaiyin FC have confirmed the participation of midfielder Anirudh Thapa and nine other Indian players for the upcoming season. Thapa, who joined the club as an 18-year-old in 2016, is currently on a multi-year contract and is set for a fifth campaign in the Chennaiyin blue The 2020-21 ISL season will be held solely in Goa with Chennaiyin`s home games to be played at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.

Notably, Goa have won their last five matches to finish on top of the league table with 39 points from 18 matches.

Chennaiyin FC beat Kerala Blasters in a nine-goal thriller in the Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here on Saturday.

Abahani's Wellington Priori deflected into his own net in the 79th minute to the glee of the Chennaiyin supporters at the TransStadia Arena here.

NorthEast coach Eelco Schattorie, however, said that the team's preparations haven't been ideal. 

Chennaiyin became the first ISL side to enter the AFC Cup group stage after getting the better of Sri Lanka's Colombo FC in South Zone qualifying play-off on 1-0 aggregate last month. 

After losing to Chennaiyin FC in the final last season, Bengaluru FC won their maiden ISL title after defeating FC Goa in the finals last night.
