Many have been traumatized by the second major quake to strike Mexico City in their lifetime after a devastating 1985 tremor killed an estimated 10,000 people.
The death toll from the massive earthquake that struck Mexico on Thursday night has risen to at least 90 after emergency services in the southern state of Oaxaca said late on Saturday there had been 71 confirmed fatalities in the state alone.
A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico on Monday, 108 km (67 miles) southwest of Suchiate in the state of Chiapas, at a depth of 10 km, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
