The continuing feud inside All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) escalated further on Friday over swearing-in of V K Sasikala after she removed party presidium chairman E Madhusudanan. 

Ruling AIADMK today kept up its attack on O Panneerselvam, saying Jayalalithaa's "soul will not forgive" him for trying to split the party.

A small group of AIADMK cadres and supporters of former chief minister Jayalalithaa's niece, Deepa Jayakumar, on Saturday staged a black flag protest here against an appointment of VK Sasikala as party General Secretary.

Sasikala will now lead AIADMK, the second largest opposition party in the Lok Sabha with 37 members. The party also has 13 members in Rajya Sabha.

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa's close aide VK Sasikala is yet to give her consent to becoming the AIADMK general secretary.

The four-member legislature wing of the opposition AIADMK in Puducherry on Wednesday urged Sasikala, long time aide of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, to take over the leadership of the party.

Strongly backing late Jayalalithaa's long time aide Sasikala, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on December 10 had said that she should lead the AIADMK.

AIADMK member and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Thambi Durai has said that late chief minister Jayalalithaa's confidante Sasikala Natrajan is a well-known person who is fit to lead the party in its future endeavours.
