The CBI on Saturday filed a supplementary chargesheet against British national Christian Michel James, businessman Rajeev Saxena and 13 others accused in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam case.
The chargesheet was filed before Special Judge Arvind Kumar in Delhi`s Rouse Avenue court, who listed the matter for consideration on September 21.
Michel, the alleged middleman and accused in the Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP choppers deal case, was extradited from the UAE in December 2018.
A Delhi court has allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate Christian Michel, in the Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal, for two days in Tihar jail. Michel was extradited from Dubai last year and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with alleged irregularities in the chopper deal.
Delhi High Court on Tuesday (April 7, 2020) dismissed the interim bail plea of Christian Michel, the alleged middleman in AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam case, in which he had apprehended the risk of him contracting coronavirus in the high-security Tihar Jail.
The alleged middleman in the Agusta Westland VVIP chopper scam case, Christian Michel, on Thursday (March 26) filed a plea before Delhi High Court seeking interim bail ciitng the coronavirus outbreak in India.
Special Judge Arvind Kumar will hear the arguments on the ED's counsel Naveen Kumar Matta at 2 pm. Michel allegedly played the role of a middleman in the chopper deal and is currently lodged in Tihar jail in judicial custody in the case being probed by the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
"Plea dismissed," said Special CBI judge Arvind Kumar while disposing of the application. He said that the plea was devoid of merits.
Special Judge Arvind Kumar refused to grant the relief to Michel.
Special Judge Arvind Kumar said he would pronounce order at 4pm after hearing argument of lawyers from both sides.
