Telangana, which has about 600 theatres, was late compared to many other states in allowing reopening of screens but authorities justified the move in view of the pandemic situation.
According to PVR Cinemas, India's largest and the most premium film exhibitor with a portfolio of 835 screens in 175 properties, the advance booking for 'Tenet' has been significantly high.
Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Cinemas, believes that big films like 'Tenet' will increase occupancy and numbers.
Nolan, along with Pattinson, Washington and Kapadia, shot some sequences of the film in Mumbai for a week in September 2019.
'Tenet' was the first big-budget Hollywood feature to go for a theatrical release since the novel coronavirus pandemic shut down the cinemas worldwide in March.
The action-thriller which originally premiered on September 3 in the US, will be one of the biggest Hollywood movies to hit theatres in India amidst the deadly novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
