The entire world cried foul after the zoo staff killed the giant ape in a bid to save a 3-year-old boy, who had managed to crawl through the barrier and fallen into the gorilla's enclosure.
The video shows a 4-year-old baby falls into a gorilla enclosure and then all hell breaks loose.
The anger of grieving people rose when certain reports claimed that Harambe was in fact, trying to protect the boy and not harm him as the zoo staff thought.
Cincinnati Zoo officials said they were heartbroken over the loss of Harambe, but had to make a rapid choice on how to rescue the boy.
The child was taken to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for treatment soon after. However, no life-threatening injuries have been reported.
The Cincinnati Zoo in the US state of Ohio houses 11 gorillas, according to its website.
