Citi India News
American lender Citi Wednesday announced a new product offering in the country targeted at people below 40 years of age, seeking to address multiple banking needs of the growing segment through a single relationship.
American lender Citi said here Wednesday that despite sluggish economic growth in the country, its unsecured loan book continues to grow and its quality has not been affected.
Delhi International Airport (DIAL), which operates the nation's largest Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital, has raised USD 288.75 million by selling high yielding secured bonds to international investors.
While an uptick in economic activity will help banks come out of some of their problems, some issues currently facing the Indian banking industry are of its own doing and it needs to take the blame for the same, Citibank's India chief Pramit Jhaveri said.
Jhaveri, CEO of Citi India, also said that banks in India remain smaller than their peers globally and therefore there was a strong case for larger banks.
