Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president CK Khanna on Saturday condoled the demise of former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who breathed his last at the age of 66 after prolonged illness. 

Wadia was arrested earlier this year at an airport in Japanese town Hokkaido for possession of 25gm of cannabis resin. His sentence has been suspended for five years.

The salient points in his proposal include spoken English training, communication skills, problem-solving ability and social conduct.

The CoA has decided against having any glittering opening ceremony for the IPL and instead to contribute the entire budget for the welfare of armed forces.

Khanna also requested that a two-minute silence be observed in the memory of the martyred soldiers during the opening game of the India vs Australia series as well as the IPL. 

Following his phenomenal showing in the past two seasons, India skipper Virat Kohli will be presented with the prestigious Polly Umrigar award for the best international cricketer (2016-17 and 2017-18) at the BCCI Awards to be held in Bengaluru on Tuesday, the board announced on Thursday.

 Former India international Madan Lal, acting BCCI president CK Khanna's wife Shashi and ex-DDCA sports committee member Vinod Tihara have been cleared to contest the Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) election on June 30.

Former India all-rounder Madan Lal is expected to contest for one of the three major posts during the upcoming Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) election on June 30.

However, it is still not clear whether N Srinivasan will attend the informal gathering. 

Having already sought their removal in the seventh Status Report filed in Supreme Court last week, the CoA has gone a step further by issuing the diktat to stop the office-bearers from taking any decision unilaterally.

The Indian captain has questioned the time-gap between two tours, which hampers India's preparations and can have an effect on performance. 

It is expected that India will be touring New Zealand in early 2019 and will be interesting to see if a series with Pakistan is slotted in that five-year period.
