The Centre believes the Opposition-ruled state governments are responsible for the current coal shortage and resulting power crisis. Sources close to the government said the situation could have been averted if states had lifted their quota from the stockpile of Coal India.
"The eighty-nine year Congress leader was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi for evaluation of fever; his condition is stable," AIIMS officials said.
