Apple's famous tablet has several advantages, including helping people suffering from vision loss see and read information more easily, researchers at Canada's Concordia University have found.
They used questionnaires and tests to gauge participants' visual ability, and then compared theApple iPad versus two traditionally used magnification devices, to see if reading rates varied across devices.
"There already exist many 'Take the stairs' campaigns in office environments and public transportation centres," said lead researcher Jason Steffener from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
The researchers found that brain age decreases by 0.95 years for each year of education, and by 0.58 years for every daily flight of stairs climbed, i.e., the stairs between two consecutive floors in a building.
