The CAIT representatives expected festive sales of over 4 lakh crore due to the extended period of the festival this year which will be celebrated from August 19 to November 15 on the day of Tulsi Vivah.
CAIT alleged that Shopee violated the Competition Act.
CAIT Chairman Praveen Khandelwal said that Shopee is offering hefty discounts.
Shopee offers products on its website at Re 1, Rs 9, Rs 49 etc.
The accused were operating the racket through a leading e-commerce firm, which received two-thirds of the profits generated, as per the official.
Evidence is being collected to see if it could be prosecuted for providing a platform for such drug transactions, the official added.

The robust sales gave China an expected loss of Rs 40,000 crore.
"People didn't purchase anything in the last eight months except essentials. Hence people had enough surplus money, and a portion was spent on Diwali festivities," said CAIT.

Traders in Delhi have called for a two-day bandh starting Friday to protest against the ongoing sealing drive in the national capital. It is expected that at least 8 lakh shops and a large number of factories would remain closed as part of the strike.
