On Sunday, West Bengal registered 10 fresh fatalities due to coronavirus, two less than what the figure was on Saturday. The new deaths took the toll to 19,055 while the state's caseload has gone up to 15,86,455 on Sunday.
In a letter addressed to police and administration officials in the state, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said, "In closed and at open places, a maximum of 100 persons have been allowed to gather at a place, while following COVID-19 protocol.’’
The districts with lower numbers of such zones are South East Delhi (zero), East Delhi (six), Central Delhi (eight) and North East Delhi (10).
New Delhi district has the highest number of 176 containment zones.
By mid-May, the number of containment zones in the national capital was over 58,000.
Kavi Nagar, Indirapuram, Vijay Nagar have over 100 active coronavirus cases
321 containment zones in the district include 174 zones that have one COVID case and 147 having more than one cases

The state has imposed a night curfew in Dehradun from 10 pm to 5 am to combat COVID-19.
The two-member teams will comprise of a Community Medicine expert from PGIMER, Chandigarh and an epidemiologist from NCDC.
The Ministry is a statement said that the high-level teams will assist the State/UT in strengthening public health measures for containment, surveillance, testing and efficient clinical management of COVID patients with the aim to reduce mortality and save lives.
They will also guide the State/UT in effectively addressing the challenges related to timely diagnosis and follow up.
All districts of Kashmir province except Bandipora are in the Red category.
The only district from Jammu province which comes in the Red category is Ramban.
Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Reasi, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu are in the Orange category, while Doda and Kishtwar are in Green, according to the new classification.
CM Banerjee said the normal lockdown on Saturday in containment zones, not a complete lockdown because of Bakri Eid. Sunday and Monday (August 2, 3) would observe a complete lockdown
"Normal lockdown on August 3 because of Rakhi, not a complete lockdown. Next lockdown on Saturday, Sunday (August 8,9)," she said
"Schools, colleges, and institutions will remain closed till August 31," Mamata Banerjee added
Cabinet Secretary had a detailed review of the state-specific COVID response strategy with the Health Secretaries and other State officials
The states were advised to ramp up the testing with a special focus on containment zones. Areas of concern with respect to low testing in certain states were also highlighted
The central government directed the states that sustained and aggressive testing is crucial for early identification of cases and to prevent the spread of infection
A containment zone is the area where severe restrictions on movement and interaction among people are imposed. Neighbourhoods, colonies, or housing societies where infected people live are sealed, and access is restricted.
The Home Minister reviewed the rising number of corona cases in Delhi and discussed the situation in Delhi's containment zones. Amit Shah also discussed with the team of doctors about steps being taken for the door to door testing in the containment areas.
The number of coronavirus cases in Delhi continues to surge as the national capital reported 2084 new COVID-19 cases on Monday (June 30, 2020) with the total tally crossing 85,000 mark. As per the health department data, the total cases stand at 85161 which includes 56235 recovered cases and 26246 active cases.
