Patanjali Research Foundation Trust on Wednesday said that the Coronil is in no way a secret medicine.
In a fact check response to IMA on Coronil, Acharya Balkrishna, the MD of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, shared a press release on his social media platforms.
Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Tuesday said that the sale of Patanjali's Coronil tablets won't be allowed in Maharashtra without proper certification.
Anil Deshmukh took to his official Twitter account to announce the news.
IMA on Monday expressed shock over 'blatant lie of WHO certification' for Patanjali's Coronil tablet.
It demanded an explanation from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan in whose presence the medicine was launched.
After the claims made by media abouT Coronil getting recogition from WHO and that it was a cure for COVID-19 spread on social media. Soon, Patanjali issued a clarification on Twitter saying that the certificate was issued by Government of India and not WHO.
The medicine was launched here at an event that was presided by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Under CoPP, Coronil can now be exported to 158 countries.
"A lab test of the drug carried out by Birmingham University showed the pills contained plant-based ingredients which cannot protect against Covid-19," said a report.
Maharashtra government on Friday said that it will take action against noted yoga guru Swami Ramdev’s organisation Patanjali Ayurved if it creates confusion among people or misleads them claiming that their newly developed drug Coronil cures COVID-19.

Uttarakhand's AYUSH Minister Harak Singh Rawat on Wednesday (June 24) said that Patanjali Divya Pharmacy was merely given the permission to make immunity booster medicine.
Just hours after yoga guru Baba Ramdev claimed that Patanjali has discovered a medicine to 'beat' the novel coronavirus, the Ayush Ministry of Uttarakhand clarified that the licence issued was not to find a cure for coronavirus.
The ministry has also requested concerned State Licensing Authority of Uttrakhand government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines being claimed for the treatment of COVID-19, the statement said.
