Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) won their first-ever Caribbean Premier League title by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) by 6 wickets.   

If the BCCI and CWI fail to reach an agreement over dates, some of the biggest players could miss the initial few matches or maybe the first half of the IPL 2021, which will resume in September in UAE.

The three-match T20I series between the two sides will take place from November 27 at Eden Park in Auckland. New Zealand and West Indies are slated to play two-match Test series from December 3 at Seddon Park in Hamilton. Six Test reserves have also been named to travel with the main squad and prepare with them as cover in case of any injury.

The 2020 IPL is slated to take place from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Kings XI Punjab will kickstart their campaign at the 13th edition of the IPL against Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals on September 20 in Dubai. Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks on Sunday won their respective games in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Trinbago Knight Riders secured a 19-run win over Barbados Tridents while St Lucia Zouks defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 10 runs. Colin Munro and Darren Bravo both scored a fifty in Trinbago's victory while Roston Chase was the star-performer in the Zouks win with his brilliant knock of 66-runs.

Mohammad Nabi and Roston Chase were right on cue as they lead St Lucia Zouks to an enthralling 10-run victory over Patriots. With this victory, the Zouks have reached the top of the points table of CPL 2020. Mohammad Nabi was given the Man of the Match award for his quickfire 35 of 22 balls.

The 32-year old has played 57 matches in CPL history and has 1,109 runs with the highest score of 121*. He averages near 31 and has hit more sixes (87) than fours (80). The all-rounder has also taken 55 wickets at an average of 24.3 and strike rate of 17.2.

The organisers of Hero Caribbean Premier League 2020 on Tuesday said in a press release that all those who are involved in the franchise-based tournament have tested negative for COVID-19. The press release said that those who travelled into the Trinidad & Tobago have now had two tests since arrival, all of which have been negative. The press release added that those who are resident of Trinidad and joining the tournament bubble have also returned negative tests.

Trindents, which will be captained by West Indies Test skipper Jason Holder, will eye for their third title at the eighth edition of CPL. 

The first clash will see last year’s runners-up, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, take on the Trinbago Knight Riders on August 18. 

Trinbago Knight Riders will look to kickstart their campaign at the 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on a winning note when they lock horns with last year's runner-ups Guyana Amazon Warriors at Brian Lara Cricket Academy on August 18.

 The Cricket Advisory Committee is today conducting interviews of candidates shortlisted for the position of Indian cricket team`s head coach, at the Board of Control for Cricket in India`s (BCCI) headquarter.

Gayle is also the leading run-scorer of the CPL with a total of 2,111 runs, including three centuries all for the Tallawahs. 

Mohammad Irfan now has the most-economical four-over spell in T20 cricket - going past Chris Morris' two for two for Cape Cobras in 2014.

Steve Smith's 63 runs and two wickets contributed to his team's victory.

Caribbean superstars Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Evin Lewis, and Lendl Simmons were picked, alongside several international icons including Brendon McCullum, Sohail Tanvir, Shakib al Hasan, Martin Guptill, Hashim Amla and Shahid Afridi.

Expectedly, McCullum went to the hospital after the injury to get an x-ray done and he then posted a picture of the test announcing his exit from the league for this season.
