Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCFH) is a viral haemorrhagic fever usually transmitted by ticks. It can also be contracted through contact with viraemic animal tissues during and immediately post-slaughter of animals.
According to experts, the patient mortality rate from this disease is close to 30 percent.
So far, there is no vaccine for the disease.
Experts say that the disease is transmitted from the body of cattle to the body of healthy people.
