The 39-year-old reflected on his IPL fufture ahead of his franchise's final league stage fixture against KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Dhoni achieved the feat during CSK's emphatic 10-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening. During the 18th over of Kings XI's innings, the 39-year-old took a diving catch to his right off Shardul Thakur's bowling to dismiss KL Rahul and reach the mark. The former India captain has a total of 139 dismissals to his name in 195 IPL matches, which include 100 catches and stumpings

Du Plessis and Watson smashed a fifty each to help the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side thrash Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets in Dubai. The victory saw CSK climb up to the sixth spot from eighth place in the IPL standings, while Kings XI Punjab have slumped to the bottom of the table. The Chennai franchise will next lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on October 7, while KXIP will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad a day later.

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Match 18 of the 2020 IPL. Today, the bottom two sides in the standings namely Kings XI Punjab and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face each other. 

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side has now lost three matches in a row to stand at the bottom of the IPL 2020 table. The Chennai Super Kings have lifted the IPL trophy thrice (2010, 2011 and 2018) besides making it to the playoffs in every season they have played so far. The two teams have faced each other in a total of 21 matches, with CSK emerging victorious on 12 occasions. KL Rahul's team has won nine of those meetings.

CSK have undoubtedly dominated the lucrative tournament since its inception in 2008, but the MS Dhoni-led side is struggling this year. Nothing has been going right for CSK: first it was off-field issues, and now they have failed to deliver on the field as well, suffering three defeats on the trot. On the other hand, KXIP skipper-cum-opener KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have been in great form.

Dhoni made his much-awaited return to action on Saturday when he successfully led his franchise CSK to victory in the opening match of the 2020 IPL against Mumbai Indians. It was the 39-year-old's first match since India's dismal 18-run defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final clash of the ICC World Cup last year. As a result of five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians, Dhoni clinched his 100th IPL win as the captain of the Chennai-based franchise.
