The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, hit a more than three-month low.
Spot gold ticked 0.2% lower,but remains near a five-week high of $1,218.80.
The dollar mostly strengthened against other Asia-Pacific currencies.
Asian shares have fallen 3% after hitting a more than seven-year high on April. 29. On 6th May, MSCI`s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan slipped 0.3%, while Australian stocks fell 1.5%.
The euro bought $1.1141 in late-morning Singapore trade from $1.1146 in New York late Monday, while the dollar climbed to 120.15 yen from 120.14 yen.
The euro bought $1.1194 in afternoon Singapore trade from $1.1200 in New York late Friday. It also fell to 134.40 yen from 134.56 yen.
