Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India's victory in the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistani intruders who had illegally occupied strategic positions in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir. The day honours the extraordinary courage, sacrifice and resilience of the Indian armed forces who fought to reclaim the region in difficult, high-altitude terrain and extreme weather conditions.

ITBP Cycle Ekta Rally left for Gujarat, where ITBP Director General Sanjay Arora flagged off the rally. Actually this cycle rally will be included in the parade of National Unity Day organized on 31 October. This batch has left for Gujarat Kevadiya from Gogra in Ladakh.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, in the wake of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, today started his cycle yatra in Lucknow to raise issues like inflation, unemployment, agricultural law and crime rate. "The Samajwadi Party will win 400 seats in the elections," Akhilesh said.
