BJP MLA from Loni Nand Kishore Gurjar has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleging that he has been receiving death threats from underworld don Dawood Ibrahim-controlled D-Company. In his letter to the Home Minister, Gurjar also expressed fears that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is in the eye of a political storm due to her comments likening Mumbai to PoK, might be killed by her enemies. The BJP MLA said the actress must be given a Z Category security instead of Y category. He also made serious allegations against the Maha Vikas Aghadi govt and said that the Shiv Sena government is hand in gloves with the D Company. The BJP legislator demanded that the NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra should be sacked and President's rule be imposed in the state. He alleged that the government of Maharashtra is being controlled by Dawood's D Company. The Loni MLA also dared the Mumbai civic body – BMC – to demolish the illegal buildings belonging to Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, fugitive Islamic scholar Zakir Naik.

Dawood's last phone call was intercepted by the Delhi Police in November 2016. The phone call, recorded for 15 minutes, was intercepted by Delhi Police sleuths after placing a Karachi based number, provided by the central agencies, under surveillance.
