Japanese automaker Nissan has announced its decision to hike prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 30,000 from January 1. The move is aimed at offsetting increased input costs.
Japanese auto maker Nissan said it has started selling of India-made entry level multi-purpose vehicle Datsun GO+ in South Africa.
The Datsun GO Cross’ price is expected to start from Rs 4.4 - 4.6 lakh.
Aiming to boost sales, Japanese auto major Nissan will be doubling its dealer outlets to touch 300 in the country by next year and would be focussing on the domestic market for its newly launched Datsun GO+.
In a letter to Nissan Chairman and CEO, Global NCAP Chairman Max Mosley urged for an "urgent withdrawal of the Datsun Go from the Indian and related markets".
Lashing out at Global NCAP for "scaremongering", SIAM Director General Vishnu Mathur said: "Every country has its own safety requirements. Our cars are meeting safety norms set by the government."
Maruti Suzuki's premium selling model Swift and the Datsun Go miserably failed the crash tests done by Global NCAP.
The offers would be available till October 31, 2014.
