The protest programme was organised by the daughter-in-law of Samajwadi supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav in Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow.
With less than two days to go for the release of the juvenile convict in the December 16 gang rape case, the victim's parents today feared that he might be a "threat to society" and demanded that his mental condition be assessed before setting him free.
