The CBI is likely to ask him questions about the changes made in the excise policy
"One of their (BJP) leaders says that it is a scam of Rs 8,000 crore, the LG says it is a scam of Rs 144 crore and the CBI FIR says there is a scam of Rs 1 crore. I don't understand what the liquor scam is," Kejriwal said.
The searches are being conducted at premises linked to liquor businessmen, distributors and supply chain networks in Nellore and some other cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi-NCR, officials said.
"There is no need to panic over the CBI raid, let them do their work. They have orders from above to harass us," Kejriwal said in a press conference, accusing the central governmnet of targeting AAP leaders because of their good work that had been praised globally.
“If there were no discrepancies, why was the policy withdrawn? It is the fear of the CBI that forces Arvind Kejriwal to speak on education. This is not Shiksha (education) but Sharaab (alcohol),” Thakur questioned AAP.
“On the day the biggest newspaper in America has a photo of Manish Sisodia on the front page with an article praising the Delhi education model, the same day CBI teams have been sent by Centre to his home,” Kejriwal tweeted.
“We welcome CBI. We will fully cooperate in the investigation so that the truth can come out soon. Till now many cases have been filed against me but nothing has come out. Nothing will come out of it either. My work for good education in the country cannot be stopped,” Sisodia said.
Manish Sisodia on Saturday presented its annual budget of ₹ 75,800 crores in the Assembly for the financial year 2022-23.
The budget size for the financial year 2021-22 was Rs 69,000 crore. The budget size for 2022-23 is 9.86 per cent higher than the previous year.
This is the eighth consecutive budget of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The budget session of the Delhi Assembly commenced on March 23 and will conclude on March 29.
The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Sisodia also met a delegation of ‘Dilli Atithi Shikshak Sangh’.
The Department is expected to soon work out the details of the increased remuneration.
The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday claimed the three-member panel, which recommended recovery of Rs 97 crore from the Delhi government for spending on advertisements, does not have any mandate for the same.
