The high-level meeting is underway and is being attended by Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai and officials of all concerned departments.
Due to worsening air quality, the Delhi government closed schools up to Class V in schools for the next two days.
"Delhi's air quality improves to 'Satisfactory' category with Air Quality Index (AQI) standing at 90 on Sunday morning,'' according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR)-India.
The air quality in Noida also slipped to the `critical` category, while the air quality in Gurugram was in the `very poor` category this morning. The AQI in Noida and Gurugram stands at 507 and 319 respectively, as per SAFAR.
The air quality of Delhi was again recorded in the 'poor' category on Sunday morning due to stubble burning and unfavourable meteorological conditions. One of the main reasons for the deteriorating air quality is the rise of pollutants in the atmosphere.
Residents of Delhi-NCR woke up on Wednesday to a thick blanket of smog covering the areas. The stubble burning in the nearby states of Punjab and Haryana are contributing mostly to polluting the air.
The air quality in Delhi-NCR has been placed in "emergency" or "beyond-severe" category.
Easterly winds blowing from UP will trigger moisture in the air over the next few days and fog will start building from October 29.
