On Thursday, Delhi's peak power demand not only clocked the season`s highest at 7070 MW, but also the highest ever in the month of May, PTI reported.
The response came after AAP leader Raghav Chadha on Friday slammed the Centre over the coal shortage in the country stating that over 16 states including Punjab have only one or two days of remaining coal supply left, reported ANI.
Coal shortage across the country has led to reduced power generation.
Delhi might go through intermittent rotational load shedding in coming days.
Tata Power had started sending messages to its customers on Saturday.
Delhi had witnessed an all-time peak demand of 6526 MW on June 6, 2017, at 15:31 hours
