The near-complete skeleton of a carnivorous dinosaur which roamed the earth around 150 million years ago was sold at a Paris auction house for 3 million euros.
The skeleton of the Allosaurus dinosaur dug up in the U.S. state of Wyoming three years ago, went to an unnamed foreign buyer for well in excess of the 1 million euro starting price.
The fossil is rare and around 80 million-year-old.
The fossil of the sauropod dinosaurs has tiny embryonic bones to patches of delicate fossilized skin, and even a skull and teeth of one of the creatures.
The new findings was led by Martin Kundrat of the Paleo BioImaging Lab at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, in the Slovak Republic.
A 30-feet-tall gigantic model of dinosaur built near the Statue of Unity in Gujarat's Narmada district collapsed on Sunday.
Scientists excavated bones from at least eight to 10 Lingwulong individuals, the largest of which was about 57 feet (17.5 meters) long.
The creature has now been sent for analysis, including carbon dating, which will reveal its exact age.
Experts arrived at the study after discovering a small dinosaur fossil in China, which also helped to dispel stereotypes about the creatures.
Researchers spotted several three-toed footprints measuring 57cm long and 50cm wide.
The dinosaur was estimated to be about 100 million years old with its size believed to be the biggest ever found in Thailand
The rare skull was spotted at a construction site and experts say that it could help unlock numerous secrets about triceratops.
The new specimen was originally discovered on the Somerset coast, during the mid-1990s, and is from the Early Jurassic, roughly 200 million years old.
New remains from the region suggest that at least some dinosaurs likely roosted together to sleep, quite possibly as a family, much like many modern birds do today, researchers said.
It is believed to be the largest cluster of Sauropod footprint fossils ever found in China dating from the early Jurassic period, Xinhua news agency reported.
The name Austrosaurus, meaning “southern lizard”, was given to the cretaceous-era sauropod back when it was discovered in 1932, but the digging site was thought to be lost until it was rediscovered in 2014 by a team of paleontologists.
In Stephen Spielberg's original adaptation of the Jurassic Park, a rampant Tyrannosaurus rex (T rex) is shown chasing Jeff Goldblum's character, Ian Malcolm, as he sits injured in the back of a 4x4 vehicle.

The remnants of skin which are fossilized, cover the armor plates on the dinosaur’s remains, which are petrified from the head to the hips.
Measuring about eight metres and weighing up to three tonnes, the new species named Beibeilong sinensis or baby dragon from China, lived about 90 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period.
Researchers from the University of Bath in the UK studied a rare fragment of a jaw bone discovered in the phosphate mines at Sidi Chennane. They identified it as belonging to an abelisaur.
The three-feet fossilised skeleton, named Jianianhualong tengi, is a troodontidae -- a family of bird-like theropod dinosaurs.
