The ICC's new guidelines came into play on Sunday (July 20) after England's Dom Sibley used saliva on the ball by mistake on the fourth day of the second Test against West Indies in Manchester. Sibley's action prompted on-field umpire Michael Gough to sanitised the ball quickly.
West Indies were reduced to 32 for one in their first-innings at stumps on the second day of the second Test against England at the Old Trafford Cricket Stadium in Manchester in Friday.
At stumps, opener Kraigg Brathwaite (6) and Alzarri Joseph (14) remained unbeaten at the crease, with the West Indies still trailing England by 437 runs.
