This project will add a third and fourth railway line alongside the existing route between Vadodara (Gujarat) and Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) spanning 258.94 km, easing congestion on one of Western Railway's busiest corridors.

Karnataka is second with 15,019 registered startups, followed by Delhi with 14,734 startups. Uttar Pradesh has secured fourth place with 13,299 startups, while Gujarat is in fifth place with 11,436 startups.

DPIIT said that loan/debt facilities sanctioned to an eligible borrower on or after October 6, would be eligible for coverage under the scheme. This scheme would help provide the much needed collateral-free debt funding to startups, it added. These institutions should also have to closely monitor the borrower account.

The Cabinet had on April 7, 2021 given approval for the PLI scheme for white goods for manufacture of components and sub-assemblies of ACs and LED lights. The scheme is to be implemented over a seven-year period, from 2021-22 to 2028-29. The total outlay is Rs 6,238 crore and 42 applicants have committed investments of Rs 4,614 crore, so there is still over Rs 1,600 crore in the reserves.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is set to chart out a strategy for enhancing India`s logistics efficiency to carry forward the momentum on the PM GatiShakti national master plan with a stakeholder meeting involving high ranking officials from various Ministries, leading academics and industry representatives.

Piyush Goyal will chair the concluding session of the day wherein the leaders for all themes will present their outcomes and elaborate on the way forward. The second session on `Cooperative Federalism and Enhanced Capital Investment for Infrastructure` will be led by Amrit Lal Meena.

Out of the $70 Bn that came in the last six years, only 10% is Indian money, DPIIT's Agarwal said. Investors of the LIC of EPFO may need not worry, as both the funds offer assured returns.

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat have the largest number of these entrepreneurs. Startup India is a flagship initiative of the government launched on January 16, 2016. The initiative is intended to catalyse a startup culture.

It said that mere assembly of finished goods would not be incentivised and companies investing in basic/core components would get a higher priority. Earlier this month, the government approved a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for white goods - Air Conditioners (ACs) and LED Lights - with a budgetary outlay of Rs 6,238 crore. It will be implemented from 2021-22 to 2028-29. The group will be empowered to make any changes in the modalities of the scheme within the overall financial outlay of Rs 6,238 crore.

The issues reported by various stakeholders will be taken up by the Department with the concerned state government, district and police authorities, and other concerned agencies.

Prior to taking over as DPIIT secretary , Mohapatra, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of 1986 batch, served as chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI).

This proposal is part of the 100-day action plan prepared by the department, under the commerce and industry ministry, for the new government.
